ABOUT SPEAKER: Venerable Mettananda, born in Singapore, relocated to Sri Lanka in 2007 for meditation practice. Guided by Venerable Ariyananda and Venerable Samita Maha Thero, he practiced Samatha and Vipassana meditation. He became a novice monk under Most Venerable Ariyadhamma Maha Thero and a Bhikkhu under Most Venerable Gunananda Maha Thero. In Malaysia since 2008, he studied Samatha Vipassana Meditation with Venerable Mangala Maha Thero, actively engaged with Dhamma Earth Organizations (formerly Tusita Hermitage). He furthered his practice in Myanmar in 2013 and 2016 with Most Venerable Pa Auk Sayadawjyi and Sayadaw Kumarabhivamsa. Venerable Mettananda participated in Dhamma activities, serving on the Tusita Sangha Council. He provided Dhamma talks, led novitiate programs for kids, and conducted online Qualities Cultivation programs during COVID. He continues weekly talks to monastics, yogis of Dhamma Earth, and devotees of Visuddha Meditation Center (Singapore) and Damsuwa Forest Monastery (Melbourne).
