ABOUT SPEAKER Ajahn Achalo was born in Brisbane Australia in 1972, he developed a keen interest in meditation at the age of twenty, and at 21 he headed off to Thailand to study Buddhism more sincerely. Ajahn Achalo ordained at Wat Nong Pah Pong in Ubon Rachathani (the monastery founded by venerable Ajahn Chah) and subsequently trained in Thailand for more than ten years. His main teachers in Thailand have been Ajahn Anan and Ajahn Jayasaro. Ajahn Achalo feels deep gratitude for the wonderful opportunities he has had to practice as a monk in a number of different traditional contexts... in practice monasteries, in remote forests, and whilst on pilgrimage. Currently he is establishing a Monastery in North East Thailand.
