ABOUT SPEAKER Ajahn Pavaro is a Canadian born monk who used to be a University lecturer, entered monastic life in 2001 with Ajahn Sona at Birken Forest Monastery in British Columbia, Canada. He received Bhikkhu ordination in 2003. After 8 years at Birken and a further year with his preceptor, Luang Por Pasanno, at Abhayagiri in Northern California, Pavaro moved to Thailand. Much of his first year in Asia was spent at a remote mountain hermitage near the border with Myanmar. For the past 6 years he has lived at Anandagiri monastery with its abbot, Ajahn Achalo. Living in Thailand brings him into regular contact with the community of Wat Pah Nanachat and the larger Sangha established by Luang Por Chah, as well as with some renowned Thai teachers, including Tan Ajahn Anan BUDDHIST CENTRE While registered as a Buddhist not-for-profit association, Buddhist Society of Victoria (BSV) welcome members of all backgrounds and religions. Located in Melbourne, our East Malvern centre hosts programs that guide members on meditation; as well as practical Buddhist teachings for kids, teenagers, and adults.
