COVID-19 | Message from the BSV President

Important message about changes at both the BSV and NBM in regard to our regular programs, special events and dana arrangement as a result of the COVID-19 Transcript: Welcome to the BSV teaching program. I'm Adrian Tee, President of the Buddhist Society of Victoria. Due to the current COVID-19 virus circumstances, we have to take precautionary steps to protect and safeguard our community. As such the Buddhaloka Center will be closed indefinitely until further advice. This includes there will be no Sunday Dhamma school for children on Sunday. There will be no weeknight meditation classes and no individual meditation practices at the centre. Sunday morning Dharma teaching and weeknight meditation classes will be delivered to your online. Further details will be provided later on. As for the plan BSV AGM which we have planned for 19 of April, we will be consulting with the Department of Consumer Affairs, and we will advise you on the decisions, which will be published in the BSV weekly newsletter as well as on the website. As for the long awaited BSV Vasak celebration planned for the 10th of May, we will not be having any public gathering on that day. Instead we will be delivering the celebration online to you. Further details will be delivered to you through the website as well as the BSV weekly email. For those who would like to provide dana for the (NBM) Newbury Buddhist Monastery, it will only be on a drop-off basis. So please let the monastics in NBM know that you will be delivering a dana, so that they don't have to prepare any meals on that on certain days. We understand that these arrangements may not be convenient to some of you, and we asked for your understanding. We hope that this unfortunate phenomena will pass too will pass soon. We wish you well and thank you for your support
